Dr. Andrew Spadinger is a recently retired, board certified Pediatric Dentist who enjoys transforming any fear of going to the dentist into fun. Dr. Spadinger completed his undergraduate studies from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. Following, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from SUNY at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine before achieving his pediatric dentistry certificate from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Spadinger received distinctive training in hospital dentistry for special needs and handicapped children, along with children who receive bone marrow and liver transplants. Additionally, he has a special interest in sports-related traumas and the re-implantation of teeth, which is one of the reasons why Commerce Park Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics offers custom-made mouthguards for children who play high-contact sports. He also wrote a chapter on sports dentistry in the textbook Pediatric Dentistry Infancy Through Adolescence: 6th Edition and co-authored a chapter on dental trauma and sports dentistry in the Handbook of Pediatric Dentistry: 5th Edition.
Dr. Spadinger is a member of many dental associations, but he is the proudest of his accomplishment of becoming board certified by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. As a board certified Pediatric Dentist, he attends more than 50 hours of continuing education courses a year to stay on top of the latest developments, changes in treatment paradigms and dental materials. This showcases Dr. Spadinger’s commitment to his patients in delivering the best dentistry possible.
Since his retirement, Dr. Spadinger enjoys cheering on the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. As a Buffalo native, he is proud to be a lifelong fan of these two teams. Dr. Spadinger also enjoys spending time with his wife, two girls and son. He enjoys participating in many outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, hiking, running, swimming and biking.
