During your initial consultation, we answer any questions or concerns you may have about orthodontic treatment. Dr. Ritter will also discuss which treatment option is the best for you and your orthodontics needs. What Happens After Your Initial Consultation?
After your initial consultation, it’s time to begin your treatment! We will schedule your first appointment with Dr. Ritter at a date and time that is convenient to you. You can expect this first appointment to last about an hour, as Dr. Ritter will place your new orthodontic appliance. We will also make sure that you feel as comfortable as possible with your new appliance, and we will happily answer any questions you may have.
Meet Your Orthodontist, Dr. Mary Ritter
Our talented Dr. Ritter is both a Pediatric Dentist and Orthodontist. As an Orthodontist, she is passionate about helping patients of all ages feel comfortable and confident during orthodontic treatment. She cherishes the opportunity she has to help patients achieve a straight, cavity-free smile that will last them for a lifetime.
Dr. Ritter earned her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College and received her DDM at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated cum laude. A member of multiple dental and orthodontic organizations, Dr. Ritter is also the recipient of the Dr. Paul E. Boyle Award in Oral Pathology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
When she is not helping patients smile, Dr. Ritter enjoys spending time with her husband, children and their dog, Teddy. You can find her reading, cooking, traveling and spending time outdoors hiking or biking.
Orthodontic Appointment Schedule
We recommend that you come in for visits every four to eight weeks. This time frame is essential for your orthodontic treatment, as we will make sure your treatment is going well. During your scheduled appointments, we will make sure that your teeth are moving correctly, and we will also perform adjustments as necessary. We also recommend you continue to visit your dentist every six months for your routine dental check-up, as your overall oral hygiene is more important than ever when you are receiving orthodontic treatment.
